Large Scale Commissions

In 2008, Barbara Moody completed two large-scale commissions for Meditech’s new Southcoast facility in Fall River, MA. Her proposals were reviewed and ultimately selected by the CEO, the architect, and staff of this corporation, with whom she worked closely throughout the project. Meditech owns over 65 other works by Moody, which are exhibited at their office complexes in Framingham, Westwood, and Canton.

For the cafeteria mural, Barbara created a painting on paper of ethereal animals floating in space. The original work (15’ long) was scanned and printed to fit the 12’ high by 127’ long cafeteria wall of the new building, and was installed in April, 2008.

Inspired by the history of the Fall River mills, Barbara created images of abstracted threads and fabrics for the lobby wall paintings. In the glass enclosure over 50’ high, she created three large-scale paintings, each 10’5” x 5”3”. They are permanently installed on a bamboo paneled wall.
